Adanze

Christian Awe commits himself to both local and international social and educational projects. In the summer of 2015, his most recent, tennis court sized mural called „Adanzé“ received a great deal of attention.
„Adanzé“ means „a cordial welcome“ in different west african languages. In times of political and religious tensions in the world, it is crucial to him, to send out a sign of tolerance and open mindedness through his art.
Inspired by his journey through Burkina Faso, he supports the construction of a school in Kassan, in the northwest of the country. While classes 1-6 are already built, we are currently collecting for the extension for classes 7-10. The construction will be financed by donations and the sale of his works of art.
A limited edition of parts of the mural „Adanzé“ will be on view at Christian’s exhibition „OffYourColorChart“ at Deutsche Bank’s Nextower from September 10 until 27, 2015.
